NOTE - I'd rather people make their own interpretations of my songs, but if you must know, here's how I understand them
Intro to the funeral of a terrified girl
-
I wanted to write a 3/4 piano song as the intro song for a long time, but had a hard time coming up with a melody. A thought I had was that I'd write this song last and use leitmotifs from the upcoming songs, but that changed due to one thing.
The night after reading the Project Sekai story "The Warmth of Intersecting Melodies", I had a dream. One half of the dream was me in my house witnessing the start of the end of the world, and the other half in the afterlife, which was represented by a museum. The museum had items that represented the PJSK character Mafuyu Asahina, who had died off-screen. The museum scene was essentially the character Ena showing me and another person the items and telling stories about Mafuyu. The scene was backed by the song "Don't Go" from FNaF 3. I know it's a silly dream, but dreams convey certain feelings really powerfully, and this one had a real sense of pure hopelessness. "The world isn't ending, it has already ended" was the vibe. I had never really thought about turning emotions into music, but because of the N25 story, I thought I should try. So I looked up what key would be the most fitting for that feeling, and started composing in C#min.
Before coming up with the melody, I listened to a few songs from Until Then and OMORI, as well as Don't Go.
I came up with the melody for the first part on a whim, but it wasn't 3/4, so I opted to modify my favorite melody to play on piano for the 3/4 part. The panning is inspired by Kikuo's song "Festival of the Dark".
